Before and After
The previous owner of our house had these beautiful honey oak stairs covered with carpet. Our task was to get rid of the stinky carpet and refurbish the red wood underneath.

After two days of sanding with grits of 40 , 80 , 120
The red wood started to get better.

After two coats of polyrethane.

Golden rods to make it look nice.
And finally ......

This beautiful white maple handrail was painted white. ( why???)
We sand it down with 3 type of grits and applied two coats of polyurthane
That was enough for it to start sparkling against light.

After two coats of poyurethane and a serious buffing:
